Tonkon Torp Congratulates the Oregon Historical Society

Congratulations to the Oregon Historical Society (OHS) for receiving a 2017 Award of Merit through the annual Leadership in History Awards given out by the American Association for State and Local History (AASLH). The award was given in recognition of OHS’ new History Hub exhibit, where youth, students, and families can explore the topic of diversity through hands-on interactives, objects, and pictures. History Hub was developed in partnership with an advisory committee of students, teachers, cultural organizations, and museums to tell the stories of people living in Oregon today and in the past.

Tonkon Torp is proud to be a sponsor of the OHS History Hub exhibit. Our sponsorship was organized by Tonkon Torp Estate Planning attorney Jackson Lewis, who sits on the OHS Board of Trustees and is Chair of OHS’ Education and Programs Committee.

The AASLH Leadership in History Awards is the nation's most prestigious forum for recognition of achievement in state and local history. OHS is one of 17 institutions nationally to receive the award in the exhibits category, and the only winner in the state of Oregon.
