Jessica Morgan Discusses Investment Trends at Oregon Angel Fund

On June 7, Tonkon Torp attorney Jessica Morgan participated in a panel discussion hosted by the Oregon Angel Fund. An audience of 25 fund managers and investors gathered to hear insight into current trends and best practices for investment fund strategies and structures.

The panelists explored how market and limited partner trends, such as crowdfunding, are impacting fund managers. They also discussed implications of the rise of the strategic (corporate) limited partner and co-investor, as well as risks and liabilities for fund managers. The conversation closed out with Morgan and her fellow panelists sharing their thoughts about the current economic factors involved in starting, managing, and exiting a fund.

Morgan is Co-Chair of Tonkon Torp’s Financial Services & Investment Management practice group. Her practice focuses on advising high net worth investors, investment advisers, investment funds (including mutual, private equity, real estate, and venture capital funds), family offices, financial institutions, closely held businesses, and startup companies on general corporate and securities matters. She has represented clients in a variety of industries, most prominently in investment management, financial services, wine/food services, and cannabis.
