Alan Perkins Participates in National AILA Seminar on New H-1B Guidance

On June 1, Tonkon Torp immigration attorney Alan Perkins participated in a live national seminar held by the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). The subject of the nationally broadcast seminar was the recently released USCIS policy memorandum on H-1B visas for computer programmers.

Perkins joined a panel of business immigration experts who discussed the challenges presented by this new H-1B guidance, including its potential applicability to occupations beyond computer programmers. The speakers provided tips and strategies for successfully demonstrating that particular positions qualify for H-1B visas as “specialty occupations.”

Perkins is a partner in Tonkon Torp’s Immigration practice group. His practice focuses on assisting large and small companies with the hiring and retention of foreign national employees and advising clients on continuing employment issues involving foreign nationals in the United States.
