Tonkon was a sponsor at the inaugural Mt. Scott Golf Marathon on June 11. Frank Weiss led Tonkon’s involvement with the event. Money raised by the Golf Marathon went to the Mt. Scott Learning Center, an alternative high school that works with students who are not able to succeed in public schools. More than 90% of the school’s students graduate (despite the fact that most of them either dropped out, or were on the verge of dropping out, before they arrived at Mt. Scott) and over 80% go on to college or some form of further education. Frank is a member of the Mt. Scott Learning Center board of directors.
