Tonkon Torp Sponsors and Hosts CLE for In-House Counsel

Tonkon Torp sponsored and hosted a Continuing Legal Education (“CLE”) program for the Oregon Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel. The event, held at the Nike World Headquarters, brought together a full house of more than 60 in-house counsel attorneys from businesses in the Portland area. The topic focused on how in-house counsel can or should influence corporate strategy and business outcomes.

A panel of business and legal experts shared examples and advice on topics including seeking and evaluating opportunities to include legal counsel, examples of valuable legal contributions to business decisions, expectations for attorneys involved in strategic decision-making, and how attorneys can prepare themselves for an enterprise-wide role in the business. Tom Palmer helped coordinate the panel and program. Bruce Berning served as the moderator.

Tonkon Torp lawyers work closely with in-house counsel throughout the region and the firm is pleased to be an annual sponsor of the Association of Corporate Counsel’s Oregon Chapter. Many alumni from Tonkon Torp are active with the organization and regularly attend their programs.
