Shouka Rezvani Attends National Conference for Tax-Exempt Organizations in Washington, D. C.
As chair of the Tonkon Torp Nonprofit & Tax-Exempt Entities practice group, Shouka Rezvani counsels nonprofits on all facets of their operations and governance, and on compliance with the laws regulating the independent sector – from formation to dissolution. To gain insight into the current state of the law for tax-exempt organizations, and to gather valuable information that will benefit clients, Shouka attends national conferences such as the recent "Representing and Managing Tax-Exempt Organizations," sponsored by Georgetown Law in Washington, D.C.
The program, which is one of the most popular and well-respected national gatherings of EO professionals, provided an update from Capitol Hill that included current developments in the regulation and enforcement of tax-exempt entities. Also discussed were current issues surrounding joint ventures with for-profits, economic development as a charitable activity, and specific issues related to international grant making.
