Business Immigration Attorneys Help Employers Respond to Immigration Ban

As swiftly as the Portland business community offered its response to President Trump’s Executive Orders related to immigration, Tonkon Torp’s Business Immigration attorneys began to roll out guidance and programming to help Oregon companies with international employees navigate the orders from the perspective of business immigration.

A client alert released on Monday morning focused on key business immigration-related impacts of the Executive Orders and immediate actions that employers can take within a very fluid and heated environment. The full text of the alert is available here.

Tonkon Torp also enhanced the programming of two previously scheduled immigration briefing events to include the Trump Executive Orders. On Wednesday, February 1, attorneys from the Business Immigration practice group hosted a free lunch briefing for startups, technology companies, and entrepreneurs on immigration issues such as temporary visa issues, green card issues and the impact that the Trump Executive Orders will have on international business travel.

On Wednesday, February 15, Tonkon Torp holds its annual Business Immigration breakfast briefing that helps employers prepare for the competitive H-1B Cap lottery season that runs from April 3-7. In addition to the potential impact that the Executive Orders may have on the H-1B program, attorneys will cover the fundamentals of H-1B, which impacts a large number of employers in Oregon.

Our February 15 event is open to businesses based in Portland. Contact tonkontorpevent@tonkon.com for more details.
