Tonkon Torp Immigration Group Helps Employers Prepare for 2017

On November 16, Tonkon Torp’s Immigration practice group hosted a breakfast briefing to help employers prepare for visa and green card updates coming in 2017 and to review important immigration recordkeeping requirements that impact all businesses. Participating attorneys were Turid Owren, Alan Perkins, Melina LaMorticella, Melany Savitt, and Matt Joseph.

The attorneys provided practical updates related to travel, temporary visas, permanent residence and employment eligibility verification. They also provided strategies around hiring, green cards, Form I-9s, and E-Verify. The timing of the briefing also provided an opportunity to consider how business immigration may be affected by the Trump administration.

Tonkon Torp’s Business Immigration practice group counsels businesses on the full suite of immigration options and compliance matters relating to employment of foreign national employees.
