On September 23, Turid Owren spoke at the 2016 American Immigration Lawyer Association (AILA) Business Immigration Conference in Toronto, Ontario. Turid and her co-panelists gave an “H-1B Workshop,” offering an in-depth examination of the issues raised by H-1B denials based upon the definition of “specialty occupation.” They focused on occupations listed in the “Occupational Outlook Handbook” with multiple educational routes to the occupation. Melina LaMorticella also attended the conference in her capacity as the current Chair of the Oregon Chapter of AILA.
