Tonkon Torp Hosts Annual Labor & Employment Law Seminar

On May 12, Tonkon Torp Labor & Employment Practice Group attorneys hosted their annual employment law seminar for human resource professionals and other business leaders. Over 200 attendees listened to Star Wars-themed presentations at the Oregon Zoo covering important changes and issues in the field of labor and employment law.

The event included sessions on FLSA overtime exemptions, new "Ban the Box" laws, cultural considerations in hiring decisions, hidden traps in wellness programs, personnel record retention practices, sick leave law requirements, and the interplay among medical leave, workers compensation and disability laws. The day also featured both state and federal case law and legislative updates. Materials from the seminar are available here for attendees.
