Colin Geiger Speaks at CLE on Obtaining and Using Medical Records
Tonkon Torp attorney Colin Geiger spoke at a CLE lunch for the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel (OADC) at the firm’s downtown office on December 15. The CLE topic was “Medical & Psychological Records – Tips on Obtaining, Using, and Admitting HIPAA Protected Documents in Employment Litigation.”
Colin explored judicial approaches to resolving disputes over the production of medical records and discussed methods to circumvent the resistance of plaintiff's attorneys. In addition, he spoke about strategies for admitting medical records into evidence at trial after privacy concerns have been raised.
A member of Tonkon Torp’s Labor & Employment practice group, Colin defends employers in lawsuits filed by current or former employees as well as assisting employers in other human resource matters.
