Tom Palmer Leads Roundtable on Governance Priorities

On November 19, Tonkon Torp attorney Tom Palmer chaired a roundtable discussion on governance priorities for small-cap public company directors. At the event, hosted by the Portland, Northwest chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), participants discussed ways that small public company directors can prioritize limited resources, and how they could achieve an appropriate level of governance regarding audit, nominating, and compensation committees.

Palmer chairs the firm’s Corporate Finance practice group and is also a member of the Entrepreneurial Services practice group. His practice emphasizes securities and general corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, and private placements.

The NACD provides information and insights to help corporate board members confidently navigate business challenges and enhance long-term shareowner value. The Portland chapter hosts regular director roundtable meetings to promote dialogue on a variety of board governance issues. Palmer is a frequent speaker at NACD events.
