Tyler Harkness has joined the Business Department at Tonkon Torp LLP, where he will be working with a variety of practice groups, including corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, taxation and corporate governance.
Harkness is a 2015 graduate of the University of Oregon School of Law, where he graduated Order of the Coif, and first in his class. Prior to graduating, Tyler worked as a summer associate for Tonkon Torp and as a judicial extern for Honorable Michael McShane, United States District Judge for the District of Oregon. He also worked as a law clerk in the Civil Litigation Section of the Oregon Department of Justice, Trial Division.
During law school, Harkness was a Dean’s fellow and received multiple scholarships, including the Oregon State Bar Business Law Section's Outstanding Corporate Law Student Scholarship and the Mary Lawrence Scholarship, which is awarded to the top ranked student in the class. He was also an associate editor for University of Oregon’s Oregon Law Review.
“We are delighted that Tyler joins us as an associate in our Business Department,” said Darcy Norville, Managing Partner of Tonkon Torp. “His high academic credentials are a perfect complement to the foundation of experience he gained as a summer associate."
