Tax attorney Gwendolyn Griffith was a guest speaker at a recent informational event, “Estate Planning and You,” hosted by Ameriprise Financial in downtown Portland. She addressed the key factors in good estate planning: making choices to implement your goals; three good ways to transfer assets; and how to communicate your estate plan to those who need to know. She also answered questions from an audience of 65 people.
Gwen chairs Tonkon Torp’s Taxation practice group. Her practice includes matters related to partnership and corporate taxation as well as estate planning. She is a frequent speaker on tax and wealth transition topics, and has been recognized for a number of years by Best Lawyers in America for tax law and trusts and estates. Gwen also is the co-author of a prominent book on the transition of family wealth, Family Wealth Transition Planning, published by Bloomberg in 2008.
