Owen Blank and Gwen Griffith Provide Navigation Tools for Alternative Investments

Owen Blank and Gwen Griffith recently spoke at the Association of Public Pension Fund Auditors’ professional development conference in Portland, OR. Their presentation dove deep into the legal aspects of alternative investments such as hedge funds, private equity funds, and commodity funds, among others. They provided auditors important questions to ask investment officers and private fund managers. Griffith and Blank shared their thoughts about deal protection and delivered risk management techniques to apply at the inception of an investment and throughout its duration.

Blank is a business attorney with 40 years of experience in business, commercial, real estate and corporate matters. His practice is focused on working with corporate, family-owned, and nonprofit organizations on a range of business, real estate, and commercial matters.

Griffith chairs Tonkon Torp’s Taxation practice group. Her practice includes matters related to partnership and corporate taxation as well as estate planning. She has been recognized for a number of years by Best Lawyers in America for tax law and trusts and estates.

Both lawyers enjoy appointments as a Special Assistant Attorney General to represent the State with respect to investment matters.
