Tonkon Torp Presents Annual Labor & Employment Law Seminar

Lawyers in Tonkon Torp’s Labor & Employment Practice Group recently hosted human resource professionals and other business leaders at the firm’s annual employment law seminar.

The event featured presentations on a variety of issues including accommodating mental disabilities in the workplace, class and collective actions, NLRB ambush elections, employee performance reviews, and independent contractor/employee issues.

Especially timely topics included “Ban the Box” legislation, adapting to the millennial workforce, and potential impacts on drug free workplace policies with the July 1 effective date of Oregon’s legalization of marijuana. Also covered was an update of pertinent case law.
