Dan Skerritt Shares Trial Preparation Advice with New Lawyers

Trial lawyer Dan Skerritt recently spoke to the Oregon State Bar’s New Lawyers Section as part of a series on the basics of practical litigation skills, focusing on trial preparation. Dan spoke to the gathering of 50 lawyers about opening statements and closing arguments. Drawing from more than 30 years of trial experience, he provided pointers on how to develop a theme that will make one’s case compelling to jurors.

Dan represents plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation. He is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department and has achieved some of Oregon’s largest awards and settlements. Dan also has been a tireless advocate for equal access to justice and adequate funding of the judicial branch of government.
