Griffith Guides Women Business Leaders through a Legal Checkup
Women leaders who are growing their businesses heard a wealth of recommendations from Gwen Griffith and other experts at an October 28 seminar sponsored by Tonkon Torp, Key Bank and Geffen Mesher.
Growing a Company that is Healthy, Wealthy and Wise: A Seminar for Women Business Leaders explored best practices related to leadership, legal issues, taxation, and finance for a growing company. Griffith discussed the relationship between a company’s "health" and its "wealth." She stressed the importance of leaders having clarity about their company’s governance, employee practices, compliance, and asset management. In addition, according to Griffith, a company's potential relationships with its customers and vendors are broader and deeper than could have been imagined even five years ago. This makes clarity in those relationships even more critical for a growing company.
Griffith leads Tonkon Torp’s Taxation practice group. Her practice includes matters related to partnership and corporate taxation as well as estate planning. She has been named a Best Lawyer in both Tax and Estate Planning, and co-authored Inside the Minds: Estate Planning Client Strategies, 2014 ed., published by Aspatore Books, and Family Wealth Transition Planning, published in 2009 by Wiley.
