Tonkon Torp to Host Website Law Series for Entrepreneurs

Tonkon Torp’s Intellectual Property Practice Group will host a series of three programs to prepare start-up companies for developing and operating websites. The programs are offered at no cost, but do require advance registration on the Tonkon Torp website.

The first program, September 16 from 5:00-7:00pm in Tonkon Torp’s downtown Portland office, will cover website planning and development issues including negotiating a website development agreement; intellectual property ownership; website terms of use and privacy policies; domain name and trademark issues; and worldwide jurisdiction risks.

Speakers David Aman, Vicki Ballou, Eric Beach, Chris Erickson, and Jon Stride are members of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice. These experienced attorneys help clients develop, protect and strategically deploy assets such as trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and patents. The intellectual property practice encompasses the full range of counseling and compliance services, as well as litigation expertise.

The group developed the Website Fundamentals series to provide entrepreneurs and start-up companies with practical advice on topics to consider before a new website goes live. The second and third programs cover day-to-day website operations and buying or selling a website.
