Gordon Offers Nonprofit Employers Advice on Effective Employee Supervision

Corbett Gordon recently spoke to an audience of nonprofit organization managers in Twisp, Washington about how to supervise employees in an effective manner that avoids legal problems. She provided an in-depth look at supervision issues that arise throughout the employee lifecycle including pre-hire, hiring, onboarding, ongoing management/supervision, and termination. She also explored how employers should handle religious, pregnancy and disability accommodations, drug and alcohol policies, employee complaints, wage/hour issues, and the concept of progressive discipline.

A member of the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice Group, Gordon is one of the Pacific Northwest’s most respected labor and employment lawyers. With more than three decades of experience representing private and public sector employers in traditional labor matters, she has also defended employment cases before juries in state and federal courts in Oregon and Washington and successfully prevailed in client appeals in state and federal courts as well as before the U.S. Supreme Court.
