Cronn & Materazzi Address Corporate Social Responsibility Questions

Tonkon Torp business lawyers Jeff Cronn and Marco Materazzi recently presented a continuing legal education seminar on Corporate Social Responsibility Reporting (CSR).

Cronn and Materazzi examined why companies engage in CSR reporting, and standards and examples of such reporting. They also addressed the impact of Oregon’s new benefit company legislation. As CSR reporting is increasingly used to communicate achievement of non-financial corporate purposes, the lawyers also examined the extent to which this reporting is meaningful beyond marketing.

Cronn has chaired Tonkon Torp’s Business Department since 2008. In his transactional and corporate practice, he counsels public, private, private equity and nonprofit entities regarding mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, securities and financings, equity ownership disputes and other general corporate matters. He is a frequent speaker before industry and professional groups on M&A, finance and corporate governance issues.

Materazzi is a general business lawyer whose practice is focused on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and other business matters. He has significant experience advising clients with respect to corporate governance, regulatory compliance, entity structure, shareholder agreements and general contract negotiation.

The seminar was sponsored by the Oregon State Bar Sustainable Future Section.
