Tonkon Torp Trial Lawyer Examines Contract Law Interpretation

Tonkon Torp trial lawyer, William (Rick) F. Martson, Jr., recently spoke at an Oregon State Bar-hosted seminar, “Key Updates for Oregon Business Law Practitioners.” Martson joined Multnomah County Circuit Court Senior Judge, Janice Wilson, in a discussion of the interpretation of Oregon contract law.

 

Martson is a founding member of Tonkon Torp and practices in the firm’s Litigation Department, where he specializes in civil cases before state and federal courts. He has tried over 200 cases involving all manner of business disputes including securities and shareholder rights as well as natural resource and environmental based litigation.

 

A past president of the International Society of Barristers, Martson is a sought after speaker and instructor who has been invited by numerous organizations to share his experience and best practices with up-and-coming litigators. For the past 10 years, he has participated as a NITA faculty member. In 2006, he taught at Tyumen State University in Siberia under the auspices of the Center for International Legal Studies in Salzburg, Austria. Martson also is a Visiting Professor at Willamette University Law School.
