Gordon Demystifies Recent Leave Law Changes

Tonkon Torp labor and employment attorney, Corbett Gordon, participated recently in the 2013 Employment Law Update presented by the Oregon Law Institute of Lewis & Clark Law School. With recent changes made by the Oregon Legislature to the Oregon Family Leave Act, Gordon explained current leave laws pertaining to family, medical, sick, military, harassment, bereavement and domestic violence leave situations. Using real life scenarios, she and Anil Karia discussed the relationship between leave laws and situations related to disability, military service and new obligations faced by Oregon employers. 

Gordon is a member of the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice Group. With more than three decades of experience representing private and public sector employers, she has tried cases before juries in state and federal courts in Oregon and Washington and successfully prevailed in client appeals in state and federal courts as well as before the U.S. Supreme Court.
