Tonkon Torp Immigration Practice Earns Highest Rating From Chambers USA

The Business Immigration Practice at Tonkon Torp has earned top tier ranking in the newly released Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, 2013 edition. Rankings are based on thousands of peer reviews, client assessments and other data. This is the fourth consecutive year the immigration practice has been honored by Chambers.

Established in 1999, Tonkon Torp’s Business Immigration Practice works with a diverse range of leading companies from Fortune 500 corporations to start ups, helping ensure their ability to transfer, hire and retain foreign professional workers for technical, creative and managerial assignments in the United States.

Practice leader Turid L. Owren and partner Alan Perkins were individually recognized by Chambers for their work in immigration matters. Owren has practiced immigration law since 1988 and repeatedly has been named to Chambers, Best Lawyers in America and Oregon Super Lawyers. She has served for many years as a liaison between the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS). Perkins practiced immigration law for a number of years in California before returning to Portland and joining Tonkon Torp in 2007. He also has been listed by Chambers over several years, and has been active on AILA committees.

“Turid and her colleagues are instrumental in helping local and international companies secure and retain the talent they need to be successful in a competitive global economy,” said Michael M. Morgan, managing partner. “We are delighted to see the practice group recognized for providing clients with creative solutions and consistently high quality of service.”
