Litigation 101 – When Solid Business Plans Go Awry

In his May 16 “Risky Business” article for the Daily Journal of Commerce, Steven Olson offers advice on best practices to follow when being sued or when pursuing legal action against another party. Sometimes litigation is the best or only way to achieve a business objective such as resolving issues of ownership or management control, asserting intellectual property rights, or pursuing a vendor that has failed to perform a business-critical function for one’s company. Like most important business decisions, it is best not made in a moment of anger, frustration or impatience.
