Lawyers Discuss Tax Planning for Family Held Businesses

Tonkon Torp tax attorneys Mark LeRoux and Michael Millender will discuss tax planning for closely held businesses at a March 1 seminar hosted by the Oregon Law Institute of Lewis & Clark Law School. They will cover tax strategies for entity formation and business expansion, employee incentives, and tax planning for the sale of a business.

LeRoux and Millender are partners in Tonkon Torp’s Taxation Practice Group. Their practices emphasize federal, state and local tax impacts on business transactions, including taxation of corporations, partnerships and LLCs as well as personal investments. Millender also advises clients on employee benefits issues involving retirement plans, equity-based plans and fringe benefit plans.

Tonkon Torp’s tax attorneys advise businesses of all sizes and nonprofit organizations on tax aspects of business structure, tax compliance and controversy, mergers and acquisitions, as well as executive compensation and tax-qualified/nonqualified retirement plans.

The full-day seminar will be held in northeast Portland.
