Tonkon Torp Energy Lawyer Elected to Solar Oregon Board

Tonkon Torp energy and land use attorney David Petersen has been elected to a three-year term on the board of Solar Oregon.

Peterson co-chairs Tonkon Torp’s interdisciplinary Energy Practice Group, which provides counsel to both renewable and “traditional” energy companies, government entities, manufacturers and operators.  His practice is focused on renewable energy development, land use and local government law.  He has provided counsel on utility-scale solar and wind energy projects across the nation.  Last year Petersen represented land owners negotiating an 8500-acre, 700-megawatt project in California’s San Joaquin Valley.  Known as Maricopa Sun, the project is expected to consistently generate enough solar power for 300,000 homes.

Founded in 1979, Solar Oregon is a nonprofit membership organization providing public education and community outreach to encourage Oregonians to choose solar energy.
