19 Tonkon Torp Attorneys Named to 2011 Super Lawyers and Rising Stars Lists

Nineteen attorneys at Tonkon Torp LLP have been named to the national 2011 Super Lawyers and Rising Stars lists.

Super Lawyers are attorneys who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. They are selected through a process that identifies outstanding lawyers in dozens of practice areas.

A total of 15 Tonkon Torp lawyers from nine practice areas were named to the Super Lawyer list, while four colleagues from their firm who are under the age of 40 were named to the highly selective list of 2011 “Rising Stars.” One of Tonkon Torp’s veteran litigators, Daniel H. Skerritt, was recognized in the Oregon Top 50 list, those attorneys rated most highly by their peers statewide.

“As a business law firm focused primarily on creating opportunities and solving problems for corporations and entrepreneurs, it is gratifying to be recognized by our peers in so many business-related practice areas,” said Michael M. Morgan, managing partner.

Factors considered in the nomination and peer evaluation of potential Super Lawyers include education and employment background, experience, representative clients, pro bono and community service, and honors and awards. Only 5 percent of the total lawyers in a state are selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers and less than 2.5 percent of young practicing lawyers are named Rising Stars.
