Three New Associates Join Tonkon Torp

Tonkon Torp LLP has hired Claire E. Brown, Molly Honoré and Matthew Joseph as associates in the firm.

Claire E. Brown joins the firm’s Business Department. A 2012 graduate of Vanderbilt University, she earned a law degree and an MBA, with a concentration in finance. Claire was a Dean’s Scholar and an officer in the International Law Society, Legal Aid Society and a participant in the Vanderbilt in Venice International Law Program. She completed legal internships with a Vanderbilt professor in Nashville, Mentor Graphics in Portland and as a summer associate at Tonkon Torp. While in business school, she was director of Project Pyramid, an international development organization. Brown worked in Tanzania prior to graduate school.

Molly Honoré is a member of Tonkon Torp’s Litigation Department. She graduated summa cum laude from Lewis & Clark Law School in 2012 with a certificate in business law. Honoré was articles editor for the Lewis & Clark Law Review and was selected by law school faculty for induction into the Cornelius Honor Society. A summer associate at Tonkon Torp in 2011, she previously served as a summer law clerk to the Special Litigation Unit of the Oregon Department of Justice. Honoré also participated as a volunteer legal assistant in the representation of a Guantanamo Bay detainee, and for 11 months was an Outreach Coordinator for AmeriCorps.

Matthew Joseph also has joined Tonkon Torp’s Business Department following his 2012 graduation from Lewis & Clark Law School. Prior to starting law school, he taught the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) course for Kaplan, Inc. in Portland. With an undergraduate degree in economics and business administration, before training for a profession in law Joseph co-founded a renewable energy company, was a minority owner of a business planning company, and held other positions in software and business development companies.

“We are delighted that these promising new lawyers have accepted our invitation to join the firm and build on the foundation of experience they obtained as outstanding summer associates,” said Michael M. Morgan, managing partner. “Their academic credentials, business and life experiences add to the richness and diversity of the firm’s culture.”
