Tonkon Torp Attorney Greenman Named Portland’s Corporate Lawyer of the Year

Ronald L. Greenman has been named Portland’s Corporate Lawyer of the Year for 2010 by Best Lawyers, a highly respected peer review publication in the legal profession.

A senior partner at Tonkon Torp LLP, Greenman’s practice emphasizes securities, finance, corporate acquisitions and counseling businesses through all stages of growth, from venture capital financings to public offerings. He also counsels private and publicly held companies on structuring and implementing management leveraged buyouts.

Best Lawyers annually compiles lists of outstanding attorneys who are identified through confidential peer review surveys. Attorneys singled out as “Lawyers of the Year” earned particularly high survey ratings for their abilities, professionalism and integrity. Only a single lawyer in each specialty area practicing in large legal communities is honored as “Lawyer of the Year.”

“Ron is the classic business person’s lawyer who has earned the respect of his clients over 30 years of practicing corporate law,” said Tonkon Torp managing partner Michael M. Morgan. “Those of us who work with him on a daily basis are delighted to see his professional peers recognize Ron’s commitment to excellence.”

In addition to being singled out as Portland’s Corporate Lawyer of the Year for 2010, Greenman has earned a place on the annual Best Lawyers in America list every year for more than a decade and also has been recognized by Chambers USA® as one of America’s Leading Lawyers for Business for corporate law.

A Phi Beta Kappa graduate from the University of Oregon, Greenman earned his J.D., Order of the Coif from the University of Oregon School of Law in 1974. He joined Tonkon Torp in 1978. Greenman has served on the Board of Trustees of Pacific University and the Boards of the Campaign for Equal Justice and the Oregon Law Foundation.
