The work our summer associates do is the same work our lawyers do. Our programs are designed to give you hands-on experience and real exposure to practicing law. You’ll research issues for depositions, draft motions, analyze transactions and watch oral arguments.
We aim to balance meaningful work with interesting and diverse social activities. We want you to get to know us outside the office. Our summer associates have enjoyed a variety of social activities over the years, including microbrewery tours, nights at the theater, private tours of the Portland Art Museum, Iron Chef competitions and Portland Timbers games.
We believe that summer associates should have first-hand experience meeting our clients and seeing the work that our clients do. Our summer associates have toured the Nike campus, visited the headquarters of the Banfield Pet Hospital, and gotten a personal look at the Gunderson manufacturing facility, where rail cars and barges are constructed.
It’s important for you to see how our law firm works. During the summer, you’ll be invited to associate gatherings, practice group gatherings, attorney meetings, training sessions and lunch meetings. Our goal is to give you the opportunity to experience, understand and be a part of the firm’s internal functions.
