Tonkon Torp partners Ron Greenman and James Hein assisted the firm’s long-term client, Columbia Distributing, in its acquisition of Graybeal Distributing. The transaction adds new beverage brands to Columbia’s portfolio and expands its territory into Eastern Oregon.
Ron has been the firm’s lead attorney for Columbia since the early 2000s, representing various components of the business over time. In 2008, he worked on the deal that brought together Columbia Distributing Co., Mt. Hood Beverage Co., and Gold River Distributing to form Columbia Distributing. Ron also facilitated Columbia’s 2012 sale to the Meritage Group, a private equity firm.
Ron and James continue to help the distributor expand its footprint through strategic regional acquisitions, including last year’s deals for Marine View Beverage in Western Washington and General Distributors in Oregon City, Oregon. In addition to merger and acquisition activity, the attorneys also provide support to Columbia Distributing for general business transactions and credit facilities. Today, Columbia is a national leader in the beverage distribution industry.
