2 Tonkon Torp Attorneys Named Portland Lawyers of the Year

Two attorneys from Tonkon Torp have been named by Best Lawyers in America 2016 as Portland Lawyer of the Year in their specialties. In each community, only one lawyer in each specialty is honored as the Lawyer of the Year by the peer review survey.

Named Portland’s Lawyer of the Year 2016 for their practice areas are: Thomas P. Palmer, Securities/Capital Markets Law and Daniel H. Skerritt, Bet-the-Company Litigation.
“Since Portland has many fine lawyers, I am especially gratified that two of our own have been acknowledged by their peers as Lawyer of the Year,” said Darcy Norville, managing partner. “This is an honor for Tom and Dan, and it also affirms Tonkon Torp’s focus on excellence in complex corporate and business law specialties.”

Palmer, who chairs the firm’s Corporate Finance practice group, specializes in securities and general corporate matters including public offerings, private placements, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions.

Skerritt represents plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation. He is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department and has achieved some of Oregon’s largest awards and settlements. Dan is a tireless advocate for equal access to justice and mentoring younger lawyers in the art of trying cases.
