Tim is an associate in Tonkon Torp’s Estate Planning Practice Group where he provides clients ongoing strategic advice on their family wealth planning and business succession goals. He uses his experience in probate and trust administration to efficiently guide families through the process so they can focus on dealing with the loss of their loved ones. Tim additionally works on matters involving estate and gift tax preparation, business formation, and tax planning. 

Prior to moving to Portland, Tim spent five years as an estate and trust attorney in Maryland, focusing on fiduciary litigation and wealth planning. He served as a member of both the Baltimore County Estate Planning Council and the Estates & Trusts Committee of the Baltimore City Bar Association. Tim also worked as a law clerk for Chief Judge Baylor-Thomson and Associate Judge Lewyn Scott Garrett at the Orphans’ Court for Baltimore City.

Tim is a cum laude graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law. Tim has an undergraduate degree from Goucher College where he graduated with distinction and honors, focusing his studies on Chinese language and modern Chinese history.

Before practicing law, Tim worked at the International Rescue Committee, staffing refugee relief operations in Central Africa and Asia, and at the National Committee on U.S.–China Relations, promoting dialogue between the United States and the People’s Republic of China.
