Tonkon Torp Litigation Department Adds Two Lawyers

, two experienced litigation attorneys, have joined the Litigation Department at Tonkon Torp LLP.
Villanueva was an Assistant Attorney General in the Oregon Dept. of Justice, where she developed litigation and appellate strategy and represented the state in state and federal appellate courts. Previously, she was a litigation associate in a Portland law firm. A graduate of University of Oregon School of Law, Order of the Coif, Villanueva served as a judicial law clerk in the Oregon Court of Appeals and an extern to the Honorable Ann Aiken in the Federal District Court of Oregon, Eugene. She also clerked for the Special Litigation Unit of the Oregon Department of Justice, Trial Division. As a law student, she was a fellow in the Wayne Morse Center of Law & Politics and managing editor of the Journal of Environmental Law and Litigation
Willes most recently was a litigator at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP in Los Angeles for four years. Before beginning his legal career, he performed financial and statistical analyses in support of expert witnesses whose testimony, reports and exhibits were used at trial. A native Oregonian, Willes earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, Alexander Hamilton Fellow, and Managing Editor of the Columbia Business Law Review
. While a law student, Willes held an externship with Judge Michael W. Mosman of the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon.
