Tonkon Torp Hosts Encore of Popular Immigration Briefing

Due to popular demand, Tonkon Torp Business Immigration lawyers Turid Owren, Alan Perkins, Melina LaMorticella, and Melany Savitt, along with Labor & Employment attorney Kristin Bremer Moore, hosted an encore immigration briefing for employers – focused on how to best navigate a business environment marked by heightened scrutiny under the Trump Administration.

Tonkon Torp hosted a recent immigration law breakfast briefing for employers. The group spoke to a full house on how best to navigate a business environment marked by heightened scrutiny under the Trump Administration.
 
The attorneys provided an overview of worksite enforcement actions by different government agencies. They shared insight into why such actions might occur, how to prepare for them, and what actions the agencies may take. The lawyers also shared best practices for compliance with immigration and employment laws, including how to avoid citizenship/immigration status discrimination and document abuse. The briefing wrapped up with a primer on how to complete, store, and correct Forms I‐9.
