Palmer Moderates Panel on Board Oversight of Expansion into Asia

moderated a recent roundtable discussion on the particular challenges of board oversight of companies hoping to penetrate Asian markets. The event was presented by the Northwest chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). Special guests representing Northwest companies who are doing business in Asia discussed current problems and opportunities with the directors.
According to the NACD, expansion into overseas markets, particularly in Asia, can present a steep learning curve for board members. The roundtable offered NACD members an opportunity to become better acquainted with both the business potential and the characteristic risks of doing business in Asian countries.
