Tonkon Torp Recognized as a Defender of Justice

Tonkon Torp earned a “Defenders of Justice” award at the annual Lawyers’ Campaign for Equal Justice (CEJ) awards luncheon in Portland on February 18, 2015. This award is given to firms whose average per lawyer contribution to the CEJ annual fund drive is in the $500 to $999 range.

Tonkon Torp also was acknowledged as one of the top four firms in Portland who had increased lawyer participation in the fund drive. Dan Skerritt, Darcy Norville and Colin Love-Geiger co-led Tonkon Torp’s successful campaign drive.

Oregon lawyers established the Campaign for Equal Justice in 1991 with the mission of making equal access to justice a reality for all Oregonians. Donors support 90 legal aid attorneys who serve clients in all 36 Oregon counties. About 40 percent of CEJ’s work is in family law, usually helping victims of domestic violence. Each year the CEJ fund raises more than $1 million for legal aid.
