Two Lewis & Clark Law School students are the recipients of Tonkon Torp’s annual Moe M. Tonkon and Frederick Torp Scholarship for 2013-14. The law school’s Dean and Associate Dean selected the scholarship awardees based upon their academic achievement during the students’ law school careers.
David Loos and Kyle Roush are both third year law students who expect to graduate in December 2014. Loos is from Vancouver, WA and Roush is an Oregon native originally from Corvallis. Both students expressed their appreciation to the firm for helping to ease the financial burden of law school by providing support to aspiring attorneys within the local community.
The Moe M. Tonkon and Frederick Torp Scholarship encourages the development of young attorneys who demonstrate exceptional aptitude for the law and professional promise. Tonkon Torp established the annual scholarship 26 years ago in memory of founding partner Moe Tonkon, who was a 1928 alumnus of Lewis & Clark Law School (formerly Northwestern School of Law). In 2003, the firm enhanced the scholarship to also honor co-founder Frederick Torp, who died that year.
