Tonkon Torp Announces Four New Partners

Tonkon Torp LLP has elected Rocky Dallum, Jessica Morgan, Haley Morrison, and Drea Schmidt to the partnership, effective January 1, 2018.

Rocky Dallum joined the firm in 2014 as an attorney in the Government Relations & Public Policy Practice Group. His practice includes strategic counsel and direct advocacy for corporate and nonprofit clients engaging with Oregon’s legislative and executive branches. Prior to joining Tonkon Torp, Dallum worked for nearly five years as in-house counsel at a large, public manufacturing company and also served as a legislative director, campaign manager, and outreach director for organizations in Oregon and Idaho.

Jessica Morgan is Co-Chair of the firm’s Financial Services & Investment Management Practice Group. Her practice focuses on advising investment funds (including private equity funds, hedge funds, real estate funds, venture capital funds, and their portfolio companies), family offices, and financial institutions on general corporate and securities matters. Morgan is experienced in investment adviser and broker dealer registration and regulatory compliance.

Haley Morrison joined the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice Group in 2015. She represents employers in both single plaintiff and class action litigation. Morrison has also worked on comprehensive employment practice diagnostics for national and global companies, organized workforce exempt classification reviews, and provided advice on discrete issues in countless employment-related matters. Prior to joining Tonkon Torp, Morrison practiced employment law in California at the multi-national law firm Paul Hastings LLP. She is licensed to practice in both California and Oregon.

Drea Schmidt is a member of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions, Entrepreneurial Services, and Corporate Finance practice groups. Her practice emphasizes securities, corporate governance, corporate finance, transactional, and general corporate matters. She is experienced in SEC reporting and disclosure matters, advising on state and federal securities laws, and raising capital through private placements of equity and debt securities.

“Our four new partners represent our firm’s next generation of leaders across a broad swath of practice areas,” said Darcy Norville, Managing Partner. “We are proud to have worked with these fine young lawyers as associates to cultivate skills and expertise in their respective practice areas. As partners, Rocky, Jessica, Haley, and Drea will uphold the firm’s commitment to deliver high quality work tailored to the complex needs of our clients.”
