Steven Wilker Explores Legal and Moral Questions Raised by The Nether

Tonkon Torp attorney Steven Wilker participated in a unique panel discussion that followed the October 16 performance of The Nether, a play presented by Third Rail Repertory Theatre. The play explores challenging legal and moral issues at the intersection of the physical and virtual worlds involving virtual pedophilia, pornography, freedom of speech, censorship, and open access to the internet.

The panel explored the difficult questions and sensitive topics around intimacy, technology, and identity raised in The Nether. Steven was joined on the panel by Gabe Paez, founder of WILD, which builds multi-sensory games and experiences on virtual reality, and Scott Yarbrough, a founding member of Third Rail and the director of The Nether.

Steven’s broad-based commercial litigation practice focuses on intellectual property, information privacy and security, and financial services. He also advises and represents newspaper and television clients on issues involving newsgathering and reporting.
