Kristin Bremer Moore Offers Tips on Minimizing Attorney Fee Exposure

Litigator Kristin Bremer Moore was a speaker at the 2015 Oregon Association of Defense Counsel (OADC) Annual Convention, held recently in Sunriver. She and another Portland attorney addressed the topic, “Hedging Your Bets – Using Offers of Judgment in Employment Cases.” They noted that clients are frequently at risk for paying the opposing party’s attorney fees in employment litigation, and offered strategies to minimize attorney fee exposure and/or to bring the other party to the negotiation table at an early stage in the proceedings. They also discussed the optimal content, timing, and limits of offers of judgment when early negotiations don’t work.

Bremer Moore is a partner in the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice Group. She represents companies and nonprofit organizations in employment and labor matters including advice and litigation in wage and hour law, collective actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act, labor organizing, sex harassment, family medical leave, disability law and accommodations, and whistle blowing.
