Gwen Griffith Speaks to OSB Members on Business Closure Tax Issues

Gwendolyn Griffith spoke to members of the Oregon State Bar at a day-long program designed for attorneys without a tax background. Gwen’s talk provided insight into tax issues that may arise during a business closure. She explored the tax implications of liquidation for different types of entities, as well as the potentially disparate impacts of liquidation on different owners. She also covered how to handle unexpected income and how to avoid tax traps during the liquidation process. The program was co-sponsored by the Taxation Section of the Oregon State Bar.

Gwen chairs the firm’s Taxation practice group. Her practice includes a range of matters related to partnership and corporate taxation as well as estate planning. She is a frequent speaker on tax and wealth transition topics.
