Frank Weiss and Jeff Cronn Lead OSB Program on Indemnity Provisions & Principles

On June 10, Tonkon Torp partners Frank Weiss and Jeff Cronn led a CLE presentation in Bend on Indemnity Provisions & Principles for the Business Law Section of the Oregon State Bar. In their exploration of indemnity, “Traps for the Unwary,” Frank and Jeff discussed drafting considerations applicable to indemnity provisions in commercial contracts. They also addressed the enforcement of indemnity obligations, and common law indemnity principles in the absence of contractual indemnity provisions.

 

Frank is a partner in Tonkon Torp’s Litigation Department, where his practice emphasizes complex commercial litigation, insurance coverage, and product liability. He represents regional and national entities involved in disputes in Oregon and across the country. His experience includes trial work in federal and state courts, private arbitration, and mediation.

 

Jeff has chaired Tonkon Torp’s Business Department since 2008. In his transactional and corporate practice, he counsels public, private, and nonprofit entities regarding mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, securities and financings, disputes with shareholders, and other general corporate matters.
