Michael joined the Tonkon Torp Litigation Department in 2016. In his practice, Michael represents commercial and industrial businesses and property owners in all aspects of real estate litigation. Michael has experience handling state and local property tax disputes, condemnation cases, valuation related disputes, lease and ownership disputes, and partition and waste claims. Michael was a commercial appraiser and valuation expert before he was a lawyer. For nearly a decade he specialized in complex business and real estate consultation and valuation projects. He uses his expertise as a former appraiser to help his business and real estate clients obtain excellent results in their valuation disputes.

Michael received a B.A. from Willamette University, magna cum laude, and a J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School where he was the recipient of the Dean's Scholarship for Excellence.

Michael was named an Oregon "Rising Star" in Tax/Business by Super Lawyers in 2016.
