Aoyagi Named Oregon State Chair of The Council of Appellate Lawyers
February 26, 2014
Tonkon Torp litigator Robyn Ridler Aoyagi
has been appointed to serve as Oregon State Chair for the American Bar Association's Council of Appellate Lawyers (CAL).
CAL is the only national appellate bench-bar organization in the country. Its mission is to foster dialogue among state and federal appellate lawyers and judges to improve appellate advocacy and strengthen ties among appellate bar associations.
The State Chair is a new role recently created by CAL. State Chairs were selected based on the recommendation of the Council Chair and approval by the Board. State Chairs will be active in CAL membership development and engagement activities, including the Annual Appellate Summit.
Aoyagi’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation with an emphasis on appellate litigation and trial court motions practice. She has been a partner of Tonkon Torp since 2006. A cum laude
graduate of Harvard Law School, she clerked at the District of Columbia Court of Appeals prior to joining Tonkon Torp in 2000. Aoyagi also serves as Chair-Elect of the Executive Committee of the OSB Appellate Practice Section and is a Region 5 delegate in the OSB House of Delegates.
