22 Tonkon Torp Attorneys Named to 2010 Super Lawyers Lists

November 18, 2010

Twenty-two attorneys at Tonkon Torp LLP have been named to the national 2010 Super Lawyers lists. They were selected through a process that identifies outstanding lawyers in more than 70 practice areas.

Super Lawyers are attorneys who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Sixteen Tonkon Torp lawyers were named to that list. Six additional Tonkon Torp attorneys were named to the highly selective list of 2010 "Rising Stars" - those who have been in practice fewer than ten years. Litigator Caroline Harris Crowne, one of the Rising Stars, also recently was named Up and Coming Lawyer of the Year by the Portland Daily Journal of Commerce.

"While we are focused on helping our clients to achieve their objectives, it is always gratifying to earn the respect of our peers," said Michael M. Morgan, managing partner. "I am delighted that Tonkon Torp has been recognized in so many practice areas."  Factors considered in the nomination and peer evaluation of potential Super Lawyers include education and employment background, experience, representative clients, pro bono and community service, and honors and awards. Only 5 percent of the total lawyers in a state are selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers and only 2.5 percent of young practicing lawyers are named Rising Stars.
